The Hermosa Beach Chamber of Commerce and Visitors Bureau hosts Essentials: Human Resources Trends on Tuesday, May 10 to provide vital information for business owners to help them operate efficiently at the highest levels.

Guest speakers from Aloha HR and South Bay HR offer valuable insight on various topics such as 24-hour sick allowance, exempt vs. non-exempt classification, harassment, reducing employee hours, payroll services vs. QuickBooks, interviewing dos and don’ts, required hiring and firing forms, minimum wage increase and 2015-16 California legislation.

Hermosa Beach President/CEO Kimberlee MacMullan said attendees of Essentials: Human Resources Trends will come away confident in what they need to accomplish with new tools to execute on guidance from two expert service providers.

“Human resources is often a dark, mysterious corner where unintentional errors and omissions could result in lawsuits or penalties. The Chamber has a responsibility to inform business owners, both current and potential, of their obligations,” MacMullan said. “In an effort to support the operations of our local businesses, the Chamber identified areas that could negatively impact small businesses financially and legally. This panel provides a structure for you to properly facilitate staffing, payroll and benefits whether you have two employees or 20.”

The seminar is open to Chamber members and non-members. The cost for HBCCVB members is $10. The event is $10 for non-members before May 1 and $15 after May 1. RSVP to info@chamber.net or call (310) 376-0951.
