Hermosa Beach City School District Reopening Plan Coming August 7

Dear Parent/Guardians:

Based on the Governor’s order as of July 17, 2020, HBCSD will be starting the school year in distance learning. It is our greatest hope that we will be able to resume in-person instruction as soon as we can safely do so.

The Reopening Schools Plan will be released on Friday, August 7. It will include the hybrid and distance learning models, schedules, safety information, and other details. This will answer many questions about the reopening of schools for 2020-2021 and it will understandably create many questions. We will do our best to answer them in the following weeks with follow up presentations.

As the situation evolves, and it does so daily, our team will adjust and re-evaluate what options are available to best meet the needs of students while also abiding by the standard of care.

We recognize that the situation is evolving daily. Our team will continue to adjust, re-evaluate and communicate with you in a timely manner. We will continue to strive to best meet our students’ needs while also abiding the standards of care required by the Los Angeles County Department of Health.
