Hermosa Beach MOMS Club Donates to Hermosa View Kindergarten

In May 2014, the MOMS Club of Hermosa Beach took an opportunity to help the local Hermosa View Elementary School kindergarten students in their community. Members worked together to collect over 100 donations from local businesses and organizations. These donations were used for a silent auction and raffles at the SUPERHERO Fundraiser, their biggest fundraiser of the year. The silent auction raised over $3300 for the school.
The proceeds provided the kindergarten classrooms with 78 CD players and headphone sets for their Daily 5 program. With this program, students will:
1) read to themselves

2) read to someone else
3) work on writing

4) listen to readings, and
5) complete word work activities.
With the donation students will listen to a reading as they follow along, improving their fluency and vocabulary skills.
