The Measure S project to reconstruct North School and renovate Valley and View is now in full swing. Demolition of the North School site essentially complete with all structures now taken down.
A pair of traffic community meetings have been jointly hosted by the city and school district of Hermosa Beach where residents had opportunities to review and provide input on traffic measures under consideration around North School. These will be considered and some incorporated into a draft Neighborhood Traffic Management Plan that will be released in January 2020 ahead of its consideration, adoption, and implementation in March 2020 to support the opening of North school in January 2021.

The next few weeks will see the tentative migration of the iconic palm tree that cast its shadow across the facade of the original north school for so many years to a location overlooking Valley Park from the school property. You will be able to find images from that undertaking on the district's social media platforms.
The best place to stay up to date on the latest Measure S activities is the Measure S page on the district's website which is frequently updated with weekly reports, construction plans, notices, renderings, and more.
