Hermosa Runners Among Those Registered for Boston Marathon

Here is the list of Hermosa Beach residents signed up to run.

Explosions rocked the finish line at the Boston Marathon Monday as nearly 27,000 runners participated in one of the world's most popular running events.

Of those 27,000 runners, seven Hermosa Beach residents were listed as having registered for the race including:

  • Peter Brennen
  • Ryan Buetzer
  • David Grethen
  • Michelle Habel
  • Joseph Robinson
  • Keith Rozanski
  • Renee Williams-Smith

As of 4 p.m. Monday, a search of the official Google Person Finder for the Boston Marathon Explosions yielded messages that Brennen, Grethen, Rozanski and Williams-Smith were all OK. The statuses of Buetzer, Habel, and Robinson were not updated as of publishing time.

According to the Boston Marathon's official website, Buetzer and Robinson crossed the finish line well ahead of when the explosions occured, crossing at the 2:55 and 3:12 marks, respectively. Habel crossed the line at the 4:23 mark.

The Red Cross has a "Safe and Well" site to give those at the Boston Marathon a way to let their friends and family know they are safe and for their loved ones to post the names of people they are looking for. The site is busy and it may take a couple of tries to link to it.

Google has set up a similar service, Person Finder, specifically for the Boston Marathon. Readers can posting the names of those they are looking for or information about someone.
