Kristi Lobitz: an Evening of Solo Piano Music

El Camino College applied music instructor Kristi Lobitz is set to perform a solo piano recital at 8 p.m. June 17 in the Campus Theatre.

The performance will include Beethoven’s Sonata No. 32 in c minor, Op. 111, and Schumann’s Carnival, Op. 9. Rounding out the program will be an eclectic collection of colorful pieces that present characters at a masked ball.

Lobitz has performed internationally in England, Canada, Mexico and Hawaii and her collaborations feature accomplished ensembles such as the Conejo Valley Symphony of Thousand Oaks, the El Camino College Symphony, and Pasadena’s Repertoire Chamber Orchestra.

She has a bachelor’s degree from California Lutheran University and a master’s degree from USC. Lobitz also attended Schiller College in Berlin, where she studied with Hans-Erich Riebensahm, a longtime faculty member of the Berlin Conservatory.
