Man Injured in Early Morning Shooting

According to a press release from the Hermosa Beach Police Department, a shooting occurred at 2 a.m. on Sunday, Apr. 8, outside the Zen Lounge, 705 Pier Avenue. One victim was struck in the head by a bullet fragment, but left the scene on his own, and later sought help at a hospital in Long Beach.

The shooting occurred during a fight between several men. According to the release, witnesses said that one had a 9 mm handgun and fired six times. A local gang's name was called out, but it's not clear from the release whether the shooter was the one who yelled it.

Police questioned the victim, who said he did not know who the shooter was.
