MY LIFE WITH THE THRILL KILL KULT
Live @ Saint Rocke - Thursday 5/29/14
w/ FARTBARF and THE SUBDIVISIONS
MY LIFE WITH THE THRILL KILL KULT (TKK) will be making their second stop of the “SPOOKY TRICKS TOUR” here at Saint Rocke on Thursday May 29th. Let’s just say we are MORE than excited to see what kind of “tricks” they’ll be hitting our stage with!
THRILL KILL KULT just released their 13th studio album titled SPOOKY TRICKS and it’s their latest in 5 years! TKK is heavily influenced from new wave, 70’s electronic dance music, and no wave sound of the early 80’s, creating a universe dedicated to late night pleasure seekers looking to nose dive into the wild side!
Creators Groovie Mann (lead vocals) and Buzz McCoy (keys/production) have been brewing up “sexcapades” and kitschy horror for over 25 years. Their sound features their signature “sampled dialogue” - which is a reflection of the duo’s musical influences, and insight into their taste in cinema. “In fact, the original concept of MLWTTK was to be a trashy B-movie, in the styles of John Waters and Russ Meyers.”
This crazy fun duo spent many years touring non-stop with an entourage of interesting eye catching talent, which included musicians, performance artists, and a back up trio or singers/dancers better known as the BOMB GANG GIRLZ. These early shows were best known for having a “Cabaret From Hell” feel, playing with all the curiosity of the media, and better yet the kids who weren’t familiar with what TKK brought to their live shows later establishing the group as one of America’s premier “industrial-dance” acts.
After listening to some TKK albums, watching live videos, fan videos, music videos and reading articles and blogs about TKK I’m sad I haven’t been introduced to these guys sooner! Admit it, everyone likes to spicin’ up their playlist with a little bit of “wow” factor… and if you take a listen to their albums I’m sure you’ll be able to find a song or three that will blow your mind and melt your face!
