Popular LA Taco Spot Heads To The Beach With New Hermosa Location

HERMOSA BEACH, CA — A Los Angeles taco spot is heading for the sand, with Chicas Tacos set to celebrate the grand opening of its new Hermosa Beach location Saturday.

Chicas Tacos will open at The Deck Hermosa, 1272 The Strand, with a grand-opening celebration from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 15, according to an announcement from the restaurant.
The new Chicas Tacos is located on the back patio of The Deck, just steps from the beach.

For Saturday's opening, Chicas is also taking the festivities outside with what it calls the "Chicas Beach Oasis," a pop-up beach lounge in front of The Deck featuring music and beachside dining.

The Deck is a 21-and-over venue, but families with children can eat at the public tables next door or at the Chicas Beach Oasis during the event, according to the announcement.

Chicas Tacos was founded in Los Angeles in 2016 by chef Eduardo Ruiz and has built its menu around its take on Southern California street tacos. Its current offerings include carne asada, beer-battered fish, shrimp, chicken, braised pork and plant-based tacos, along with nachos, quesadillas, salads and churro bites.

The company currently lists its Miracle Mile restaurant at 800 S. La Brea Ave. as its Los Angeles location. It operates inside All Season Brewing beneath the former Firestone building's landmark sign.

Chicas says its food is made with fresh ingredients and draws on Mexican culinary traditions, with its menu including hand-pressed corn tortillas and slow-braised meats.

Saturday's grand-opening celebration runs from 1 to 4 p.m. at The Deck Hermosa, 1272 The Strand.
