Rootz Underground’s Rootz and Culture Tour 2013 is making its way to Saint Rocke on July 31st. Rootz Underground is a six-member band that does not want to be defined as just a reggae band, they describe themselves as, “Electric yet organic, gritty and soulful." Now, how much more authentic can you get with a band straight from Jamaica? They have performed in Jamaica at festivals such as Reggae Sunsplash, Reggae Sumfest, Rebel Salute and Welcome to Jamrock to mixed format shows such as The Air Jamaica Jazz & Blues Festival. Not only does Rootz Underground provide positive vibes and an emotional musical journey, they have created a “Releaf Program.” They encourage fans to plant trees, send in the GPS location of the tree to their website, and the website will show all trees planted with the encouragement of Rootz Underground.
