Running Hermosa Beach 5000

Hermosa Beach resident Rick Weis, 33, comes in 2nd Place overall in the 5K with a time of 16:25.

Runners from across Southern California toured Hermosa Beach on Saturday morning as they raced in the annual . The 5K course, complete with ocean views, took men and women through the community. There was also a "city walk" and children's races.

Beach Cities runners completed the men's and women's 5K run with some of the top times. Rick Weis of Hermosa Beach placed second overall with a time of 16:25, followed by John Harrington of Manhattan Beach, who had a time of 17:16. In the women's race, Manhattan Beach resident Diane Silva placed fourth with a time of 20:40, followed by Lily Zepeda of Redondo Beach with a time of 20:58.
