EF International Language Center Redondo Beach welcomes students from all over the world to study English and learn about American culture. Our students enjoy staying with people who will talk to them, take in interest in how they are doing, who are friendly and welcoming. Families must be within 1 hour by public transportation. Our current network of 150 year-round host families spans El Segundo, Manhattan Beach, Hawthorne, Carson, Hermosa Beach, Torrance, Redondo Beach, Palos Verdes, Lomita, San Pedro and Harbor City. Reimbursement is up to $880 a month for families that host 2 students in a room. The weekly stipend is $110/week for a twin room accommodation and $130/ week for a single room accommodation. We offer 24 hour support and our full time Housing staff will support you through the entire process of becoming a Host Family. Students stay here as short as 2 weeks up to a full school year of 6 to 9 months, and we are looking for families that can start as soon as June or July. Families that have specific preferences for the type of student they want to host can make requests with their coordinator.
