Sidewalk CPR

In recognition of National CPR Week, Los Angeles County Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Agency and the American Heart Association (AHA) will coordinate a countywide Sidewalk Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) event June 4. That day, Torrance Memorial Medical Center will host its own event from 9 a.m. to noon in front of its two campus cafeterias: Jared’s Café (on the second floor of the main patient tower) and Helena’s Café (on the second floor of the West Tower). During the event staff will teach adult, hands only CPR to the public. Training the public in CPR is critical to improving survival from cardiac arrest. Adult “Hands Only” CPR can be taught quickly and effectively by healthcare personnel. The event is free and no reservation is required. For more information, call Gail Foster at 310-325-9110 ext. 6760.
