Soulgrass, Sax, and Sweetness at Saint Rocke on 9/5

      Keep your calendars open for September 5th for one awesome rockin’ out time: Bill Evans’ Soul grass with Steve Kimock, Time Carbone, and others.  Yes, we are telling you almost two months in advance, but that’s just because we’re trying to be a good friend; if you wait too long…POOF the tickets are all gone.  Most of our guests are starting to figure that out so hop aboard the responsible train and get ‘em early.

            Now, if you are unfamiliar with the names above, let me tell you, familiarize yourself because they are an awesome find.  Bill Evans is THE sax man.  We all know Miles Davis and his sassy-jazzy self, well Evans joined him in 1980, recorded six records together, and went on to world tours with him over the next few years after.  So in the more recent Miles Davis music, that beautiful saxophone you hear, yeah that’s Bill Evans!

            Onto Steve Kimock, come on you gotta know him.  This musician and songwriter got his start with The Goodman Brothers during the ‘70s.  From there on Kimock has jumped from group to group including many Grateful Dead-esque bands such as Heart and Gold Band, Kingfish, The Other Ones, and many other different groups.  Over the past decade he has performed as The Steve Kimock Band and Steve Kimock and Friends, but currently he’s going solo as himself, with the occasional friends he has put together.
