Anyone that has travelled to Europe is familiar with the practice of holding free concerts and recitals in cathedrals, chapels and churches. Well, guess what? We do it here in the South Bay, too!

Classical Crossroads presents First Fridays at First featuring the critically acclaimed New York-based duo, violinist Rachel Lee Priday and pianist David Kaplan, in their debut West Coast tour at First Lutheran Church and School on Friday, January 8 at 12:15 p.m.Everyone is welcome to attend this FREE concert! A reception with the artists follows with complimentary organic, fair-trade coffee, freshly baked treats and seasonal fruit selection. Described in The New Yorker “as a matter-of-fact genius,” East Coast-based, Harvard-educated Rachel Lee Priday has risen to the top tier of American violinists, playing the concerto repertoire with leading international orchestras, including the Chicago, St. Louis, Houston and Seattle Symphony Orchestras, the Boston Pops, and the Berlin Staatskapelle. Rachel’s frequent recital collaborator and good friend David Kaplan is well known to aficionados in Southern California, where he grew up, attended UCLA and studied under Walter Ponce. He was a two-time Beverly Hills National Auditions winner. Now based in New York City, David was recently awarded the Doctorate of Musical Arts at Yale, where he studied with Claude Frank.
