Nordstrom is teaming up with Walk With Sally to present a White Light White Night Fashion Presentation tonight, Thursday, June 25 at 6 p.m. Guests will enjoy a fashion show of all white outfits from the Nordstrom South Bay Galleria personal styling team. Indulge in music, bites and shopping for the much anticipated event. Nordstrom Personal Stylists will be on hand for one-on-one consultations. Here’s the best part! The first 100 people to RSVP and attend will be entered into a drawing to win a pair of White Light White Night tickets! The community is cordially invited to attend the CA 101 Art Exhibition Fundraiser at the home of Redondo Beach Council Member Jeff & Melissa Ginsburg tonight, Thursday, June 25. Attendees will enjoy a lovely Redondo Beach Sunset, a glass of wine and one of a kind Silent Auction. The Torrance Cultural Arts Foundation presents the Annual Gala: Casino Royale on Friday, June 26 in the Crystal Ballroom of the DoubleTree Hotel. The evening begins with guest check-in at 5:30 with cocktails and hors d’oeuvres followed by a gourmet dinner and exciting live and silent auctions offering fabulous items up for bid. Guests will enjoy casino style gaming with blackjack, roulette, craps and more. The event Honoree is Sue Herbers of Sunrider International. Attire is Black Tie Optional. The Redondo Pier Association hosts the second season of Movies on the Boardwalk at the Redondo Beach Pier. This Friday, June 26 is the last movie of the season! Dolphin Tale 2 will begin at approximately 8 p.m. This free event takes place where the International Boardwalk meets the Redondo Beach Pier below Kincaid’s in the octagon. These events are free and open to the public and take place between 8 and 10 p.m. Movies begin at dusk so times will vary. The Torrance Community Services Department will be sponsoring the ever-popular Movies in the Park program again this summer. The first scheduled feature film is The Muppets, which will be shown on Saturday, June 27 at Victor Park. The movie will begin at dusk, approximately 8 p.m. Prior to the start of the movie, a craft activity will be available for the children. The program is open to the public and is free of charge. The City of Lomita presents the annual Founder’s Day Celebration on Saturday, June 27 from 3 to 9 p.m. at Lomita Park. The Riviera Village Association presents the annual Riviera Village Summer Festival on Saturday, June 27 and Sunday, June 28. This popular event takes place from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. both days and admission is free. There will be over 250 vendor booths featuring arts and crafts, apparel, accessories, commercial, civic and non-profit organization exhibits and much, much more. Local acts and musicians will be performing live on the Community Stage both days so be ready to rock. The little ones will delight in the carnival rides and games and adults will appreciate the Beer & Wine Garden, where they can sit back and take in the ocean view, sea breezes and great music while enjoying a refreshing adult beverage. You don’t want to hassle with parking so leave the car at home and take out the bicycles or use the free shuttle service to and from the event from the South High parking lot. The City of Hermosa Beach invites the community to the Mural Unveiling: Hermosa’s Great Wave on Sunday, June 28 at 11 a.m. The mural, by John Van Hamersveld, is 75 feet in length and will be located on the north wall of The Underground Pub on the southeast side of 14 Street and Hermosa Avenue. This is the fifth mural in the series, Hermosa Beach Murals Project – Making a Positive Impact One Wall at a Time. A reception will follow at The Underground Pub. A donation of $30 per person buys a delicious lunch, a beverage of choice and the opportunity to buy a numbered and signed giclee (poster) of the mural or a comparative T-shirt. Sunday Funday Marina Concert & Cookout is back for the season at BALEENkitchen! The event takes place on the last Sunday of each month – that’s this Sunday, June 28. Buffalo Fire Department presents the South Bay Open Blues Jam on Sunday, June 28 from noon to 4 p.m. The monthly jam session will take place the last Sunday of every month and local musicians are encouraged to sit in. The City of Manhattan Beach Parks and Recreation Commission, together with the Manhattan Beach City Council are proud to present the inaugural Salute to the Troops Picnic and Concert on Sunday, June 28 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Polliwog Park Amphitheater. The event honors and thanks the military service, and South Bay men and women in uniform and their families, who have served and sacrificed on behalf of our country. This FREE event is open to the public and will be a fun evening for the entire family. The Marshall Tucker Band got its start in Spartanburg, South Carolina. Still led today by founding member and lead singer Doug Gray, they represent a time and place in music that will never be duplicated. They earned seven gold and three platinum albums and their music has been featured on the soundtracks of several movies. Doors open at 6 p.m. and the show starts at 8 p.m. with opening act Danny Hamilton. General admission tickets are $50 per person.
