South Bay By Jackie Weekend Guide November 3, 2016
South Bay by Jackie features a comprehensive selection of things to do, places to go and people to know in the South Bay

South Bay by Jackie.com is THE source for keeping the community up to date on all the fantastic events and activities happening throughout the South Bay, but we are also big supporters of local business….especially the small, independently owned operators. There is a tiny, new shop that recently opened on the corner of Del Amo and Anza called Marsata Chocolates (4604 Del Amo Blvd.). The proprietor, Jeffray Gardner, has been selling his chocolates on-line for some years and now has his first brick and mortar location. On Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 6 to 9 p.m. they offer chocolate tastings ($15 per person). If you are a fan of chocolate, I highly recommend you drop by and experience his products. Jeffray is a ‘bean to bar’ chocolate maker (not chocolatier!) and quite possibly, makes the best chocolate in the world. That’s no exaggeration. For more information, visit the website at http://www.marsatta.com/ or just stop by – it’s right here in our backyard!!!

The program will take place on Sunday, November 6 at the Torrance Historical Society & Museum. The presentation will begin at 2 p.m. and light refreshments will be served. During Torrance’s tenure as president of the Valley Hunt Club (1895-1896), it was decided that a separate agency needed to be formed to manage the Parade, as it had grown too large for the Club to handle. This event is free and open to the public. No reservations are necessary, but seating is limited to first-come/first-served. For additional information, call the Museum at 310.328.5392 or visit the website at http://www.TorranceHistoricalSociety.org.
