Special Events, Cupcake Shop on Council Agenda

The Hermosa Beach City Council in a meeting Tuesday night will review a calendar of this year. There are commercial and nonprofit events on the social calendar.

The council also will hold a public hearing to discuss a request from the Frosted Cupcakery to alter a portion of the interior and exterior of on Hermosa Avenue, where .

The cupcake shop is aiming to move into the vacant commercial space at 1227 Hermosa Ave., and proposed alterations that include removing some walls and dividing the interior to make room for a kitchen and retail space, replacing maroon fabric awnings with brown fabric, and hanging a sign at the building (see city staff report under photo.)

Another public hearing will focus on the 2012-2013 community development block grant program and the allocation of funds.

The council will discuss a recruitment process and general work plan for the city's 2012-2014 Green Task Force.

The council will review an annual library property tax report from the Los Angeles County librarian and deliberate whether to place excess funds in a special trust for improvements to the .
