Summer Spanish Sessions

Mis Amigos language program provides
each student a solid foundation to successfully learn Spanish through a guided
individualized curriculum in conjunction with the current school Spanish
textbooks by McDougall Littell.

 All Sessions are offered to students
Grades 5 – 9th Grades

Introduction to Spanish One – Etapa
Preliminar

Spanish 1 introduces the basics of Spanish Language Development.

Students learn greetings, verb and pronoun conjugations, basic
vocabulary, pronunciation, and grammatical structures and get a glimpse of the
cultural diversities. Students develop a beginning level reading and
conversational abilities, laying the foundation for further success in the
Spanish language.

Spanish 1 Review and Introduction
to Spanish 2 or MCHS Spanish 3- 4 

The class is recommended for
students who wish to build a stronger foundation before continuing to Spanish
3-4. Language study involves an integrated approach, incorporating the skills
of listening, speaking, reading, and writing. Students will be able to produce
simple questions, answers, and descriptions. Language acquisitions will include
thematic vocabulary and use of basic grammatical forms such as present and
preterit tenses as well as object pronouns. Students will also be introduced to
the Preliminary chapters of Spanish 3-4

Dates for both classes

July 15 – July 26, 2013. 9:30am – 12.00pm or 1:30 – 3:00pm

August 12 – August 23, 2013, 9:30am – 12: 00pm

Classroom Instruction Monday – Thursday, Friday Sessions will be
outdoor education with a guided curriculum offering the students an opportunity
to utilize their newly learned Spanish skills through active participation
enhancing conversational development. (En Mi Comunidad  – In My Community Field Trips)
