From Aug. 23-25, The Manhattan Beach Open, granddaddy of beach
volleyball tournaments, will return with a retro twist in commemoration of its 53rd year of lore, legend and tradition. This year, the longest running beach volleyball tournament has been added as the second stop of the 2013 AVP tour with the most celebrated beach volleyball players in the world including Kerri Walsh-Jennings, Sean Rosenthal, Jake Gibb, April Ross and more, as they battle for the Manhattan Beach Open title, a plaque on the famous and prestigious Volleyball Walk of Fame and a piece of the $200,000 prize purse—the biggest purse in Manhattan Beach Open history.
