Young & Older Hermosans Fare Well in 5K
Two boys, Kyle Pedersen, 14, and Rynalen Wha, 10, complete the course in good time, as does Frank Greene, 77. Congratulations to all Hermosans who ran!
Hermosan Terry Alkana, 59, placed the highest of any HB resident running the Super Bowl Sunday 5K race, according to online results. He finished the course in a time of 19 minutes, 26 seconds, taking 12th place.
Kyle Pedersen, 14, and Denny Nivens, 55, finished in 20th and 21st place in 19 minutes, 45 seconds and 19 minutes, 48 seconds, respectively.
Other HB runners to place in the top 100 include Brett Exnowski, John Newcombe, Adam Pedersen, Ryanlen Wha, Jacqueline Hoot and Eric Bahor.

Ryanlen finished 2nd in the 0-10 age group; Kyle first in the 11-14 age category; Alkana and Nivens 1st and 2nd, respectively, in the 55-59 age range, and Frank Greene, 77, 2nd in the 75-99 age group, with a time of 26 minutes, 55 seconds.
Stephen Kilroy [no city of residence given], 26, won the 5K in 16 minutes, 53 seconds.
