Youngsters Ace in Tennis Tournament
Youth tennis players in Hermosa Beach get a feel for play at the Beach Cities Junior Championship on Saturday.
Young tennis players practiced competitive play at the first on Saturday at the tennis courts behind the Hermosa Beach Community Center. Pictured above, the female match-ups showed some serious girl power at the local courts.
The tournament was "designed for the kids to get playing experience," said organizer and tennis professional David Mahoney. "It's really for the kids so that they can play."
Mahoney is planning another local junior tournament to be held in September, and there will be a similar tournament for adults in June, he said.
