With decades of Southern California transit experience, he's expected to focus on safety, reliability, and expanding accessible bus service across the High Desert communities VVTA serves.
   

2. Man Attacked And Robbed By Four Men In Hesperia (vvng.com) — A man walking along Danbury Avenue near I Avenue in Hesperia was attacked late Saturday night by four men, one reportedly armed with a pistol, who stole his wallet and phone. Deputies are still investigating the robbery, and no suspect descriptions or arrest information have been released yet, so residents should stay alert in the area.
   

3. Three overnight crashes claim lives in Victorville, Hesperia, Adelanto (mercedsunstar.com) — One person from Hesperia died after a motorcycle and car collided at Seventh Avenue and Farmington Street, part of a tragic series of three fatal crashes in Hesperia, Victorville and Adelanto. Separate wrecks also killed a pedestrian from Apple Valley and a Victorville pickup driver, with alcohol suspected in the Victorville crash as investigations continue.
   

4. Suspect sought in Victorville wreck that claimed lives of two teen girls (vvdailypress.com) — A Hesperia teen, 16-year-old Isabell Hill, was killed alongside her best friend in a suspected street-racing crash in Victorville, and investigators are still searching for the alleged hit-and-run driver. CHP says 50-year-old Terry Lamar "Capone" Easter fled the fiery scene, leaving behind an injured child passenger, and now faces a $1 million arrest warrant as officers ask the public for tips.
