Mac is looking quite fashionable lately.
His leg surgery went really well. He had a plate put in to help his bones heal.
After spending one night in the hospital he came out sporting a new cast with the letter 'M' on it. The veterinary technicians told me it stands for Mighty Mac.

When we brought Mac back to the vet days later for his pain patch removal, the techs added a four-leaf clover right underneath the 'M.'
He’s also been so good with not picking at the cast that he doesn’t seem to need the cone around his head anymore.

The trauma to his mouth had left his snout swollen, but that has gone down and the scrapes on his head are slowly fading as his fur grows back.
While Mac was under anesthesia for his leg surgery he was also neutered. Those stitches come out tomorrow.
With all this healing and cast decorating Mac is looking more and more handsome by the day.
He will get another cast in a few days and I cannot wait to see what that will look like.
Mac has become really adept at walking on three legs. His movement improves everyday as he trots around the house following Togi, our other dog. He tries with all his might to keep up.
He’s determined to jump up onto the couch and bed, which is hard for a small dog anyway, but this little mighty man is focused on achieving this goal.
It’s amazing to see an animal do so well when just a few weeks ago he was lying in the middle of Division Street in Cypress Park, fighting for his life.
I’ve posted two pictures of Mac’s leg x-ray. The small lines are staples and the triangle piece in the "leg only" x-ray is the metal plate. In the "full body" x-ray you can see the screws that hold the metal plate in place.
In addition, the staples for his neutering are also visible in the "full body" x-ray along his spine.
Right now Mac is peacefully sleeping next to me on his back with his decorated cast in the air, front paws folded over. This little guy is growing into quite the handsome trendy man.
