Patch Blog: Wherefore the Gold Line Flying Saucer?

Where has the Arroyo's most whimsical little landmark gone?

Since the beginning of Gold Line service in 2003, riders have seen a miniature movie-prop flying saucer parked in the ATS Northeast Tow yard, visible to the west of the route between the Lincoln/Cypress and Heritage Square stations.

It used to be one of the two biggest highlights of the Gold Line "Arroyo tour"--the other one being the caged flamingos and peacocks in back of the halfway house near the Southwest Museum.

However, around November of 2011, it disappeared. Do any readers know what happened to it? Was it sold, relocated or did the party that it was towed from finally pay the fine?
