Patch Blog: Home-Improvement Chronicles: Plywood, Planter, Paper and Awning
Milla Goldenberg shares photos from weeks 2-6 of the full exterior remodel of her 1920s bungalow.
Operation: Home Remodel has now entered its 8th week! I'd like to say we're in home stretch now but given that the remodel was supposed to be completed in 4-6 weeks, I don't want to be foolish. Certainly we're closer to finishing than we've ever been before, with my contractor saying it will take only two more weeks before the house is done (my guess is closer to 4 weeks). And, of course, this doesn't include the time it will take to build the deck, which is probably another month.
Having lived in this construction zone for fiftysomething days now, I've grown acclimated to the mess and noise, which doesn't mean I won't be happy when it's over -- I'll be overjoyed, in fact -- but the progress I see on a daily basis keeps me reassured that it will all be worth it in the end. This I know because I hear that saying ALL THE TIME from everyone in my life. But I guess there isn't much else that can be said about it beyond: Check out the photo gallery at the right, which features details on weeks 2-6!
