Patch Blog: Home-Improvement Chronicles--Wet Cement

Milla Goldenberg shares photos from weeks 7-8 of the full exterior remodel of her 1920s bungalow.

Operation: Home Remodel has entered its third (and hopefully last) month! Of course this doesn't count building the deck, which will take another month. Did I mention this job was supposed to be completed in 4-6 weeks?

The only concern for me now -- beyond the mounting expenses and unsightly trash in my yard -- is the cooler fall weather that can bring rain. Last week's storm already disrupted construction and threatened to ruin the untreated lumber nailed to my house and sitting in my driveway. Luckily, the damage was minimal and construction resumed the next day. But the storm injected a hustle into the project that has made all of us eager for its completion. Hopefully soon.

The photo gallery at the right has the scoop on weeks 7 and 8, which were spent pouring cement while waiting for the siding to arrive.
