Cypress Park House Fire Injures Man, Draws 41 Firefighters

LOS ANGELES, CA — A fire damaged a Cypress Park home and detached garage early Thursday morning, leaving one man injured, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.

The fire was reported at 4:08 a.m. at a one-story, single-family home at 2679 N. Thorpe Ave., just south of Cypress Avenue, fire officials said.

Flames were burning in the rear of the home and in a detached garage when firefighters arrived.

A crew of 41 firefighters extinguished the blaze in 33 minutes, according to the LAFD.

Paramedics were evaluating an adult man who suffered injuries that were not considered life-threatening.

Firefighters remained at the scene for overhaul operations and to investigate the cause of the fire.
