The cause of the Friday morning fire remains under investigation.

HIGHLAND PARK, CA — Firefighters doused a three-story apartment fire in Highland Park Friday morning. No one was hurt in the blaze.
The smoke billowed from the building and could be seen for miles. The fire broke out at about 10:22 a.m. Friday in the 200 block of South Avenue 54, according to Los Angeles Fire Department spokeswoman Margaret Stewart. It took 46 firefighters about 25 minutes to put out the flames. Crews managed to contain the fire to a single unit on the second floor, she said.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation. Authorities have not yet assessed the damage.
