Firefighters Extinguish Blaze at Meridian Street Home Friday Night

The blaze was knocked down in less than 20 minutes.

A fire in a house in Highland Park was knocked down in 19 minutes by 31 firefighters on Friday evening.

Firefighters responding at 11:11 p.m. to the blaze at 5248 E. Meridian St. encountered flames showing from the second floor of the two-story house, said Matt Spence of the Los Angeles Fire Department.

No injuries were reported.
