Firefighters Rescue Man Trapped in Mount Washington Blaze
Firefighters were able to help pull a man from a burning house in Mount Washington Thursday night.

LOS ANGELES, CA -- Firefighters rescued a man trapped in a burning house in Mount Washington late Thursday night.
The Los Angeles Fire Department was called to the blaze at about 10:15 p.m. at 4918 E. Mendota Ave., according to Erik Scott of the Los Angeles Fire Department. A man was trapped inside the house by the smoke and fire and unable to get out on his own.
"Due to firefighters' intense efforts, they were able to quickly locate a man trapped inside and successfully rescue him," Scott said. "The patient is being assessed by firefighter/paramedics."

The man's condition was not immediately available Thursday night.
It took 35 firefighters to knock the blaze down in 25 minutes, Scott said. The cause was under investigation and the loss was being tabulated.
