UPDATED: Flooding Forces 110 Lane Closures

Broken water main has authorities closing the No. 1 and 2 lanes for an unknown duration of time.

UPDATED, 6:40 p.m.: The water main break that hampered traffic on the Northbound 110 freeway at Marmion Way earlier today was cleared as of 12:24 p.m., according to the California Highway Patrol.

Crews worked for several hours after first responding to the main break around 8:30 a.m. The first Sig Alert was issued at 8:54 a.m. for all lanes. After opening the No. 1 lane briefly, it was closed again by 9:17. The roadway was officially clear for traffic by 12:24 p.m., according to the CHP.

PREVIOUSLY: Authorities are working to fix a large water main break on the Northbound 110 freeway at Marmion Way, a Sig Alert has been issued and the No. 1 and 2 lanes.

The lanes will be closed until further notice, authorities said.

The main break was first reported at 8:30 a.m., according to California Highway Patrol traffic logs. The line break happened in the No. 1 lane, causing water to bubble up from under the freeway.

A two-hour Sig Alert was originally issued around 9:30 a.m., but was revised to establish closures for an unknown duration. The most current information from authorities on scene, according to traffic logs, established a Sig Alert until about 12:15 p.m.
