Jubilation Musical Society presents “Secrets of the
Megillah” March 16
Jubilation Musical Society presents a new form of concert---a
“Guitorah” concert that reveals the parts of the story of Purim that are
usually kept secret this Sunday March 16, 7:30pm-9:30pm at the home of Ken
Boros & Chloe Ziegler, 4901 Onteora Way, LA 90041. The concert –“Secrets of
the Megillah”—will combine elements of popular music with that of a rabbinic
drash to produce drashsong, an informative and exciting way to examine and
perform the Megillah. At the concert Bill Yuval Burnett will grapple with parts
of the Megillah that you wouldn’t hear about at a traditional Purim fest. These
include: Vashti’s hanging, Haman’s lineage, Esther in the Harem and many
others. There will be rousing audience participation and a discussion at the
conclusion of the event.
All who are interested are encouraged to RSVP. Event is
appropriate for older teens and up. Space is limited so RSVP soon!

Jubilation Musical Society was founded by Bill Yuval Burnett
and Debrah Lemattre. JMS brings original musicals, songs and concert about the
Torah and Jewish holidays to
schools, synagogues, and community groups and also offers residencies and licensing
of its scripts and musical scores. It’s Ed-jew-cation with a strict ban of boredom.
JMS recently performed “The Young Maccabees” at The Skirball Cultural Center’s
Hannukah festival, and received standing ovations for its full-length musical
“MEM” at Temple Adat Ari El in Valley Village.
