Barbara Eden To Lead Ocean City Doo Dah Parade

The "I Dream of Jeannie" star will serve as the parade's grand marshal and emcee the Mr. Mature America Pageant.

Barbara Eden, the star of "I Dream of Jeannie," will poof into Ocean City on April 13 to serve as the Doo Dah Parade's grand marshal and emcee the Mr. Mature America Pageant. The 34th annual parade celebrates all things funny with marching bands, floats and a brigade of more than 500 basset hounds.

The parade, which starts at noon, begins on Sixth Street and travels downtown Asbury Avenue to 12th Street, then turns onto the boardwalk at 12th Street before finishing on the boardwalk at Sixth Street. You can register here to participate in the parade.

Then Eden will host the sixth annual Mr. Mature America Pageant at 7 p.m. at the Ocean City Music Pier. Men 55 or older will compete in the contest that judges them on talent, an interview, poise and appearance, and on-stage questions. Contestants can register now, and tickets will be available March 1.

Eden, 87, played Jeannie on "I Dream of Jeannie" from 1965-70. She began her career as a semi-regular on "The Johnny Carson Show."
