Wrong-Way Driver Shuts Down 5 Freeway
A driver who allegedly slammed into three cars while driving the wrong way on the 710 and 5 freeways has been arrested.

LOS ANGELES, CA — A man was in custody Monday after driving the wrong way on the Long Beach (710) and Santa Ana (5) freeways and crashing into at least three cars in Commerce, authorities said.
The man was spotted around 1:45 a.m. driving southbound in northbound lanes on the Long Beach Freeway at Third Street in East Los Angeles, according to California Highway Patrol Officer Alex Rubio.
The man continued southbound, getting in the northbound lanes of the Santa Ana Freeway at Atlantic Boulevard in Commerce, where he crashed into cars and was arrested, Rubio said.

All northbound lanes of the Santa Ana Freeway were closed at Atlantic Boulevard, except the far right lane, according to the CHP SigAlert.
There were no hospital transports nor indications of injuries, said Los Angeles County Fire Department Dispatch Supervisor Miguel Ornelas.
