1 Injured In Hollywood Apartment Fire

The fire broke out on a second-story apartment unit in Hollywood Thursday afternoon.

HOLLYWOOD, CA — One person was taken to a hospital for treatment of smoke inhalation resulting from an apartment fire in Hollywood Thursday, authorities said.

Firefighters were dispatched to the garden-style apartment building in the 5900 block of West Barton Avenue at 12:09 p.m. and knocked down the flames in nine minutes, according to Margaret Stewart of the Los Angeles Fire Department.

She said 26 crew members contained the blaze to one unit on the second floor.

There was no immediate word on the cause of the fire or the condition of the patient.
