LOS ANGELES, CA — The remains of a man were found inside a parked vehicle that — along with two other vehicles and a residential building — caught fire in Los Feliz Thursday afternoon, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.

Extinguishing the blaze took extraordinary firefighting power after the LAFD first received a call at around 1:15 p.m. that three vehicles were on fire near Edgemont Street and Los Feliz Boulevard.

The blaze soon spread from the vehicles to a nearby residential building and threatened several more structures. It took 50 firefighters nearly an hour to access, confine and fully extinguish what LAFD's Brian Humphrey called "intense flames."
