HOLLYWOOD HILLS, CA — Firefighters stopped a brush fire Sunday that was burning uphill near the Hollywood (101) Freeway in the Hollywood Hills area.

The fire was burning in light fuels and had covered 10,000 square feet when reported and did not immediately threaten structures, Stewart said.

The fire had consumed 1.5 acres when it was stopped shortly after 3 p.m., he said. No structures were threatened.

LAFD and Los Angeles County firefighters were mopping up to make sure all hot spots were out. Commanders requested drones to help monitor the burned area, Stewart said.
