HOLLYWOOD, CA — A man allegedly armed with a knife was fatally shot by police in the Hollywood Hills, authorities said Sunday.
Police were summoned to reports of an assault with a deadly weapon at about 9:35 p.m. Saturday in the 9300 block of Warbler Way, near Doheny Drive, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
Police were not releasing much information about what led to the shooting, citing the ongoing investigation, but multiple media outlets reported that the suspect was armed with a knife.
The LAPD's Media Relations Division later confirmed that a person died in connection with the shooting. It was unclear if the suspect died at the scene or at a hospital.
"We are still in the early stages of this investigation as there are still multiple witnesses to interview, to include the officers involved, as well as video to review and evidence to examine," LAPD officials said.
