LOS ANGELES, CA — A cable company van partially sank into a sinkhole that opened up at a Los Feliz intersection Wednesday afternoon following a water main break, according to reports.
The sinkhole opened at Franklin and Normandie avenues, swallowing the front end of the Spectrum van as water flooded the intersection, Fox 11 reported.
Aerial footage showed the van sinking deeper into the damaged roadway as water rushed down Normandie Avenue, KTLA reported.
Firefighters and Los Angeles Department of Water and Power crews responded to the scene to shut off the water and assess the damage, according to KTLA.
Streets were closed for about a block in each direction, the station reported. The flooding did not appear to be affecting nearby homes.
No injuries were immediately reported.
