And the Award for Most Tow-Away Zones Goes to...Hollywood

Amid all the glitz and glam of the Oscars Sunday, are a myriad of temporary restrictions on parking. Here is what you need to know.

Unless you’re nominated for an Oscar or have a ticket for the Academy Awards ceremony, Hollywood might be a good place to avoid on Sunday thanks to traffic and extensive street restrictions, but those who do venture into the area are being advised to be careful of where they park.

Parking restrictions will be in effect Sunday on a series of Hollywood streets, according to the city Department of Transportation.

Beginning at 6 a.m. Sunday and continuing through midnight, tow-away no- stopping zones will be in force on:

-- Franklin Avenue between La Brea Avenue and Cahuenga Boulevard, both sides;

-- Hollywood Boulevard between Cahuenga Boulevard and Vine Street, north side;

-- Hollywood Boulevard between Highland Avenue and Cahuenga Boulevard, both sides;

-- Hollywood Boulevard between Highland Avenue and La Brea Avenue, both sides;

-- Highland Avenue between Franklin Avenue and Sunset Boulevard, both sides;

-- Hawthorn Avenue between La Brea Avenue and Highland Avenue, both sides;

-- Orange Drive between Hollywood Boulevard and Sunset Boulevard, both sides;

-- Sunset Boulevard between Detroit Street and Vine Street, both sides;

-- Wilcox Avenue between Sunset Boulevard and Franklin Avenue, both sides;

-- McCadden Place between Yucca Street and Hollywood Boulevard, both sides;

-- Yucca Street between Highland Avenue and Las Palmas Avenue, both sides;

-- Highland Avenue between Sunset Boulevard and Santa Monica Boulevard, east side;

-- Wilcox Avenue between Fountain Avenue and Sunset Boulevard, both sides;

-- De Longpre Avenue between Wilcox Avenue and Cahuenga Boulevard, both sides;

-- Cole Place between Cahuenga Boulevard and Fountain Avenue, both sides;

-- Fountain Avenue between Wilcox Avenue and Cole Place, both sides;

-- Hollywood Boulevard between Vine St and Argyle Avenue, south side; and

-- Argyle Avenue between Yucca Street and Hollywood Boulevard, east side.

From 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday, the following streets will be two-away zones:

-- Santa Monica Boulevard between Highland Avenue and McCadden Place, north side;

-- Santa Monica Boulevard between Highland Avenue and Mansfield Avenue, south side;

-- Highland Avenue between Santa Monica Boulevard and Sunset Boulevard, east side;

-- Highland Avenue between Sunset Boulevard and De Longpre Avenue, east side;

-- Cahuenga Boulevard between Sunset Boulevard and Hollywood Boulevard, both sides;

-- Cahuenga Boulevard between Hollywood Boulevard and 101 Freeway, west side;

-- Vine Street between 101 Southbound Freeway and Sunset Boulevard, west side;

-- Vine Street between Homewood Avenue and Fountain Avenue, west side;

-- Vine Street between Lexington Avenue and Santa Monica Boulevard, west side;

-- Fountain Avenue between Vine Street and Highland Avenue, north side;

-- La Brea Avenue between Lexington Avenue and Santa Monica Boulevard, both sides; and

-- La Brea Avenue between Sunset Boulevard and Franklin Avenue, both sides.

People who leave their cars in the wrong place will have them impounded at Hollywood Tow, 1015 N. Mansfield Ave., according to the city Department of Transportation.
