UPDATED: Bomb Squad Evacuates Area Around LA Times Building
The LAPD bomb squad investigated a suspicious package left on the sidewalk outside the downtown Los Angeles Times building.

UPDATED AT 12 P.M.: LOS ANGELES, CA -- An unattended package that prompted the closure of streets surrounding the Los Angeles Times building has been cleared.
According to the Los Angeles Police Department, the package has been removed from the sidewalk outside the Los Angeles Times building in downtown Los Angeles, and no explosives were found.
The Los Angeles Police Department bomb squad had evacuated the sidewalk and surrounding streets outside the downtown Los Angeles Times building. The scare prompted the closures of First and Second streets between, Broadway and Spring streets, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
