Hollywood party-boy Charlie Sheen will appear on NBC’s “Today” show tomorrow to make a “revealing personal announcement” amid rumors the former “Two and a Half Men” star is HIV positive.
Sheen, known for his hard-partying ways and dalliances with porn stars and prostitutes, was famously bounced from the cast of “Two and a Half Men” in 2011 following a bout with drugs and alcohol that led to a suspension of filming and a series of angry verbal attacks on show creator Chuck Lorre.
That National Enquirer said on its web site that it will report a full story Wednesday on “how television’s one-time highest-paid star potentially spread the devastating virus to dozens of unsuspecting women.”
Details about Sheen’s appearance on the “Today” show were not released, but he is expected to take part in a conversation on the show with Matt Lauer to “make a revealing personal announcement,” according to the show’s website.
The website TMZ.com reported that Sheen has been HIV positive for about a year, but his secret began leaking out among some of his close confidants, then led to threats of lawsuits from past sexual partners.
