Concern Foundation Raises $1.7 Million at Annual Block Party
Thousands Gather at Paramount Studios for Cancer Research
July is a special month for celebrations… World Kissing Day, Tell the Truth Day and National Ice Cream Day, all holidays celebrated in multiple countries. But the second Saturday in July is also a special day in Hollywood! A day thousands of people come together at Paramount Studios to support Concern Foundation and their mission to raise funds for cancer research.
July 8th marked Concern Foundation’s 43rd Annual Block Party. The fun-filled evening featured four stages of live entertainment and over seventy food and beverage sponsors offering savory dishes, delectable desserts and palate-pleasing beverages. The Best of LA, on Los Angeles magazine’s street, featured casino style gaming, a photo booth, Equinox recharge station and live cooking demonstrations in the Infinity Lounge by celebrity chef Scott Conant.
The night’s festivities also included a silent and live auction with exclusive experiences and trips, such as VIP tickets to the Voice – including a signed guitar from Blake Shelton and Maroon 5 – and a luxury vacation to Costa Rica.

Approximately four thousand guests showed their support for this year’s event. “We may have it every year but it’s never the same party,” states Concern Foundations’ president, Derek Alpert. “One of our sponsors said it best: we ‘make raising money for cancer research fun.’”
Concern Foundation’s mission is to conquer cancer by providing essential funds to support the early, yet critical, stages of discovery. Since its inception in 1968, Concern has raised and awarded $59 million to 750 gifted cancer scientists around the world.
