Cooling Center Opens In Hollywood As Temperatures Exceed 90 Degrees
With temperatures forecast to exceed 90 degrees this weekend, the city has opened a cooling center in Hollywood.
HOLLYWOOD, CA — With temperatures in Los Angeles forecast to exceed 90 degrees this weekend, the city has opened cooling centers around Los Angeles to help Angelenos cope with the heat.
In Hollywood, the designated cooling center is at the Goldwyn-Hollywood Regional Branch Library at 1623 Ivar Ave., a block from Hollywood Boulevard and Vine Street.
It will be available for people looking to cool down during peak heat hours from 1 to 5 p.m., as well as regular library hours.

The Cool Spots LA app, available here, offers a map view of hydration stations, cooling centers, pool, libraries and other public facilities with air conditioning.
Additionally, the city announced the following cooling centers will be open from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.:

- Fred Roberts Recreation Center, 4700 S. Honduras St. in Central Alameda
- Highland Park Recreation Center, 6150 Piedmont Ave. in Highland Park
- Canoga Park Senior Citizen Center, 7326 Jordan Ave. in Canoga Park
- Mid-Valley Senior Citizen Center, 8825 Kester Ave. in Panorama City

- West Valley Regional Branch, 19036 Vanowen St. in Reseda
