Day No. 11 Of Uptick in L.A.-Area Gas Prices

Prices are up about 6 cents per gallon over a month ago .... BUT nearly 78 cents less than a year ago.

LOS ANGELES -- The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County rose today for the 11th consecutive day, increasing three-tenths of a cent to $2.90.

The average price has increased 6.4 cents over the past 11 days, including four-tenths of a cent on Sunday, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.

The average price is 3.9 cents higher than one week ago and 6.4 cents above one month ago, but 77.5 cents less than one year ago.

The streak of increases to the Orange County average price was extended to 10 days, but barely, rising one-tenth of a cent to $2.873. 

It is 3.5 cents above one week ago and 6.3 cents higher than one month ago, but 72.8 cents less than one year ago.

The Orange County average price has risen 5.9 cents over the past 10 days, including three-tenths of a cent on Sunday.
