Do I Have Sleep Apnea?
Many people do not realize they have sleep apnea. You may if you are tired throughout the day, have morning headaches, or snore loudly.

Sleep apnea has been diagnosed in millions of Americans, with many millions more going undiagnosed. Part of the reason for that is it can be quite difficult to self-diagnose. In fact, many times the symptoms are first noticed by a sleeping partner. That being said, there are some symptoms to watch out for if you think you may be suffering from sleep apnea.
One of the most common symptoms of sleep apnea is loud snoring, which is why it is so often first noticed by a sleep partner. But that is only really true for obstructive sleep apnea, whereas that is not necessarily the case for central sleep apnea. If you have either type, common symptoms can include waking up with a very dry throat, restless sleep, morning headaches, and insomnia. During the day, it is common to feel sleepy and experience a general lack of energy. Those who suffer from sleep apnea experience mood swings, trouble concentrating, and less interest in sex. Perhaps most troubling is that a common symptom that is experienced is sleepiness while driving, which is ultimately quite dangerous. Many people do not realize that a dentist is able to treat sleep apnea using mouth guards or CPAP machines.
