DUI Suspected In Crash That Shut Down Hollywood Boulevard
A driver was arrested on suspicion of drunken driving after plowing into a pedestrian and hydrant at Hollywood Boulevard.
HOLLYWOOD, CA — A pedestrian is recovering today after being struck by a suspected drunken driver who also slammed into a fire hydrant, shutting down Hollywood Boulevard over the busy Memorial Day weekend.
The crash was reported at 10:30 p.m. Sunday near Hollywood Boulevard and Western Avenue, a desk officer at the Los Angeles Police Department's Hollywood Station said. Hollywood Boulevard was flooded and temporarily shut down.
The crash caused water to flow when the fire hydrant broke away from its mount. The pedestrian was taken to a hospital with injuries not believed life-threatening, the desk officer said.
