Fire Scorches Hollywood Hills Home
Firefighters came out in forces to tackle a blaze at a Hollywood Hills home near Laurel Canyon Friday Morning.

HOLLYWOOD, CA — Firefighters Friday fought a greater alarm fire that scorched some brush and damaged a vacant house in the Hollywood Hills.
The fire was reported about 6:30 a.m. near Laurel Canyon Boulevard and Mount Olympus Drive, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department, which said the blaze was knocked down in 38 minutes.
Ninety-two firefighters were assigned to fight the blaze, giving it greater alarm status.

Crews on the ground and in a water-dropping helicopter worked to douse the flames and prevent them from spreading to nearby homes. Fire Department spokeswoman Margaret Stewart said the lack of wind helped firefighters prevail.
