Firefighters Quickly Extinguish Hollywood Apartment Fire Wednesday

Firefighters prevented a blaze from spreading into the other units in a three-plex.

HOLLYWOOD, CA — Firefighters worked quickly to extinguish a fire that broke out in a three-plex in Hollywood Wednesday afternoon, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.

Firefighters responded to the building at 5666 W. Lexington Ave., just south of the Fountain Avenue bridge over the 101 Freeway, shortly before 3 p.m. It took 30 firefighters 15 minutes to extinguish the flames.

Crews were able to contain the fire within the room of origin, preventing it from spreading into the attic or the other two units in the building, according to the LAFD.

No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is under investigation, authorities said.
